Reflecting Music Programs
I want to talk about music in our school systems. I think music is an important part of a child's life. Music should not be taken away from them. More and more music and arts programs are being cut from schools to fit a schools budget. I want to explore the arguments that are against cutting music programs and also the arguments that are for cutting the programs. As a child I will always remember the music classes that we all went to. I believe that if this class was taken away from a child music in our society would be alot different.

I think that this would be a great topic to explore into. I have never played an instrument before. I've usually been more interested into vehicles or sports but I do undersand that everyone has their own hobby or interest. I believe it may be difficult to prove how important music classes are to children.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be great to explore how we can use music to teach other what they call more useful skills--like math, computer programming, engineering, the science of hearing and so forth. Making that as part of your arugment woudl give it an academic research angle that could be use for persuading people.
ReplyDeleteI tried commenting monday but i dont think it let me. I too think that music programs should stay in school and should not be cut. I myself am also discussing why music programs should not be cut.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great topic to do an informative piece about. What I have never understood is how they can cut music programs from schools. They blame musicians for having all sorts of influence on society, yet they justify cutting the programs because music isn't important. It just seems hypocritical to me. I am interested in seeing the results of this exposition.
